Our philanthropy is Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness which is something that is incredibly important and often overlooked. Children are our future, but people often forget and do not realize how widespread the abuse of children is. This is why we have chosen to dedicate ourselves to doing all we can to help put a smile on every child's face. We volunteer every week at the Boys & Girls Club and the Ronald McDonald House. In the fall we host Winter Wonderland which benefits a local middle school and in the spring, we host C.H.I.L.D. Week for the Boys & Girls Club in Lubbock. We place a high importance on academics and service and are here to better ourselves, our community, and those around us.
Be the Change
Be the Change is a national event where we collaboratively host service events nation-wide with other South Asian interest Greek organizations in October.
H.O.P.E. Week:
Each fall semester, sxsters nationwide host a H.O.P.E. (Helping Others Pursue Education) Week with community service events and programming dedicated to helping children and other disadvantaged populations receive a quality education. At the end of the week we have our annual Winter Wonderland day of service.
C.H.I.L.D. Week:During April, Child Abuse Prevention Month, sxsters nationwide host C.H.I.L.D. (Changing Hope Into a Lasting Difference) Week, with activities that highlight the importance of this issue. The sxsters hand out blue ribbons to promote awareness, hold forums to educate the community and many fund-raising events. The sxsters of Delta Kappa Delta Sorority hold this philanthropy very dear to our hearts. At Beta Chapter, we hold a carnival each year at the Boys and Girls Club. Anyone is welcome and it's always a good time!

Service Focus:
We believe that armed with a solid education, not just tools that can help in a classroom, but also in the real world, children and adults will be better able to prosper in their lives. Education is the key to empowerment.
The Sxsters of Delta Kappa Delta Sorority strive to educate young and old through working with different schools and after school programs, local organizations that work with teenage moms on how to tend to their child, or teach a group of children how to put on a Sari, or simply taking the time out to educate others about the South Asian culture and heritage. One of the most powerful tools is through action, by being a role model to these children, and those who are willing to learn. By encouraging education, we help build a successful future.

To date, Delta Kappa Delta has donated over $150,000 to organizations that promote the education, well-being and safety of children around the world. Many of these organizations do not receive governmental funding or assistance and would not survive without donations. We feel very humbled in knowing that we can assist these organizations to the best of our abilities. To date, Delta Kappa Delta has completed over 100,000 hours in service nation-wide and counting.
Philanthropy:
Because our philanthropy is very dear to us, the sxsters of Delta Kappa Delta choose to take this effort one step further by completely engaging themselves in the cause. Our commitment to child abuse awareness and prevention does not stop at monetary donations. Rather, our commitment to our philanthropy is displayed in our dedication to educating adults and children about the different types of physical, mental, and emotional abuse that a child can endure.
Every day, more than three children die of child abuse or neglect. That is over a thousand unnecessary deaths per year. We realize that we cannot change such devastating occurrences overnight; however, we believe that every ounce of time and effort given to child abuse prevention organizations, both national and local, will help at least one child.
For this reason alone, the sxsters work hard to spread the awareness and prevention of child abuse. We educate interested young ladies about the signs and symptoms of child abuse and what we can do to help those who may be in need of help.
